Basile Atangana Kouna, Cameroon’s Minister of Water and Energy has inaugurated a water point aimed at increasing water supply in Yaoundé.
The water project is the fruit of a partnership between Cameroon and India’s Imperial Holding Limited.
According to media reports, the water-supply project to be financed by the Indian company to the tune of 26 Billion F CFA, started three years ago in 2014. It will be based on “build, operate and transfer system”.
Sources say the project to be planted in Mefou, will employ many Cameroonians while ameliorating deplorable water conditions in the city. The project will also be extended to other regions of the country in the years ahead.
