Elements of the Carrière Gendarmerie Brigade in Yaounde have seized fake narcotics worth FCFA 1 million, stock of coins and banknotes worth FCFA 375,000 and 107,000 respectively after arresting a suspected drug dealer.

 

The man said to be in is thirties was apprehended at Marché Madagascar in Yaounde based on information given to gendarmes according to security sources.

After questioning, he took security elements to his house at the Nouvelle Route Nkolbisson neighbourhood for a search.

Following this search, a large quantity of illicit drugs worth 1,000,000FCFA, stock of coins worth 375,000frs and banknotes worth 107,000frs were recovered.

The alleged dealer is currently in custody at the Gendarmerie Brigade and an investigation has been opened to trace possible accomplices.
