The first Deputy Mayor of the Idenau Council, Fako Division of the South West region was kidnappe last night by unknown gunmen.

Mr Panda Emmanuel was reportedly abducted last night from his residence in his native Sanje village, forced into his vehicle and driven away by the armed men.

His vehicle wa later found along the Mbomboko road leading to Mbonge Subdivision, Meme division of the South West region.

Reasons for his kidnap are still unclear but villagers remain surprised at the incident given that the border town of Ideanau hosts at least three security posts to control movement in and out of the country.
