Cameroon will on May 15, host the international forum on digital economy in Yaoundé.
The three day event will take place under the theme, “How to manage digital economy? How to make it successful in Cameroon?.
According to official sources, the platform organised by the ministry of post and telecommunication will be a veritable platform for committed public authorities and actors to stimulate investment in the sector. It is expected to bring together key figures in the digital world like Jacques Bonjawo of Microsoft, Ernest Simo a NASA expert, Arthur Zang, inventor of the first African medical tablet, as well as feature presentations from experts in big telecommunications companies from countries like Tunisia, Senegal, Côte d’Ivoire, Canada and Cameroon.
Going by the organisers, the digital economy forum intends to “offer a true window of the advantages of digital economy in Cameroon; outline actions taken and to be undertaken by the government in developing digital economy from three points of view; regulation and support; disclose the pertinent and significant themes as well as prioritise actions of government’s strategic plan; promote the different actors who contribute to development of digital economy; help finance organisations invest in Cameroon’s digital economy and bring together operators and project developers in the country”.
