Cameroon’s handball lionesses have secured their qualification ticket for the World Handball Championship slated for December in Spain after sailing to the semi final stage of the ongoing Senior Women’s Handball Africa Cup of Nations in Yaounde.

The girls of Serge Christian Guebogo whitewashed their Nigeria counterparts in what has been qualified as a goal festival for them, 44 to 14 to grab the semi final ticket in the last quarter final match of the competition that was played Tuesday June 15.

With this win, the lionesses earned the biggest goal mark and gap since the start of the competition and as well grabbed their qualification ticket for the upcoming World Handball Championship in Spain.

They qualified alongside Angola, the defending champions, Tunisia and Congo.

While Angola will face Tunisia in the first semifinal encounter this afternoon, Cameroon will lock horns with Congo later in the evening.

The winners of both encounters will meet in the final of the continental jamboree Friday June 18.
