The national president of the Cameroon Journalists Trade Union, SNJC Denis Nkwebo has rubbished Government’s release on the circumstances surrounding the death of Buea-based pidgin newscaster Samuel Wazizi describing it as another provocation.
Few minutes after Government’s take on the death of Samuel Wazizi was read over the CRTV national station during the 1pm news, the President of the SNJC, Denis Nkwebo took to his twitter account to react to the release.
According to the press man, the communique released by the Ministry of Defence is full of fabricated lies which have nothing to do with what really happened and thus another provocation.
Denis Kwebo indicates that Wazizi was not arrested during a military operation as stated in the release but called on phone while in bed and later arrested “We saw him at the police station.” He wrote.
He has urged the Government to set up a national commission of inquiry to shed light on the circumstances surrounding Samuel Wazizi’s death and hinted that journalists will take their responsibilities as far as seeking justice for death colleague is concerned.
