The Government of Cameroon has officially recognized two traditional medicines concocted by Mgr Samuel Kleda, Archbishop of the Douala Metropolitan Archdiocese as complements to the treatment of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The ADSAK COVID, 15 milliliter bottle and ELIXIR COVID, 125 milliliter bottle were declared fit to be put into use to check the pandemic after the herbal cures were scientifically tested by the National Medical Commission last May.

According to a release issued by the Minister of Public Health, Dr Malachie Manaouda, the products will be marketed for a period of three years.

Mgr Kleda’s demand to have his products approved as anti-COVID-19 cures dates back from a year. In April 2020, the prelate announced he had come up with a herbal cure against the deadly pandemic that has been effective on some staffs of the diocesan health services who had tested positive for the virus.

With about 31 years of medicinal plant research experience, the Douala Archbishop said over these past years, his focus was on the herbal treatment of ailments affecting the respiratory system, just like the dreaded Coronavirus does.

“Given that I already knew the plants according to the symptoms of the Coronavirus, I have simply put together these combinations, prepared them and given to persons with the symptoms and they were relieved” the clergyman said last year.

Back then, the Government was skeptical about the cure and said it was going to be tested scientifically before approval or not.

That notwithstanding, the product was available for use as hundreds are said to have recovered after using it plus the treatment protocol.

Besides these two herbal cures, the Government has equally approved Corocur, invented by Dr Euloge Mfopou, an award-winning cardiologist and researcher.
