A big portion of the  Food Market in Bamenda, North West region of Cameroon was last night ravaged to ashes by fire, sources have confirmed.

Sources say the fire started at about 2.am last night consuming several shops before the army rescue unit arrived on the scene where they struggled to put out the fire.

The source of the fire is still unknown but some sources point to an electrical circuit in the market as traders count their losses. It is still difficult to assess the damage so far.
