The Secretary General of the Cameroon Football Federation, Parfait Siki has hailed the just ended 2021 Interpools tournament for its perfect organisation, describing it as a blueprint for future tournaments.

Interview:

How did you enjoy the atmosphere of the tournament, especially the last game?

It was really great to see the teams battling it out and at the end Bafut Rangers got their ticket to the Elite II. I think it is total satisfaction for the interpools tournament organized for the first time in two different cities; Bafoussam and Limbe. The least I can say is, it was a total success.

Lausanne, Gazelle FA and Rangers of Bafut are the three teams that picked up their tickets, can confidently say these were the best teams?

Generally, that is the rule of the game which warrants that the best prove it on the field of play as we have seen with these three teams. We can consider these teams as the best because they distinguished themselves in the various groups in which they found themselves. We can confidently congratulate all three teams because they were outstanding and at the interpools, we cannot succeed if we don’t have the mental and physical strength as these teams had.

You saw how animated the crowd was in Bafoussam and Limbe, does that send across any message?

That is why we all love football. When you see these supporters happy after gaining promotion to the Elite II, it gives goose bumps.  Football is beautiful and you see this joy that you can’t explain. But this also means that there is a greater expectation from the crowd that wants us to better organize competitions, because when it is well organised, the crowd will always turn out because they want to see an attractive competition. It simply shows that Cameroonians are still very passionate about local football.
