While FECAFOOT announced the signing of a three-year contract with One All Sports as the future equipment supplier of the Indomitable Lions, Le Coq Sportif is once again coming out of the woods.
The French company, through a statement signed by its president Marc-Henri Beausire, insists that it will not let it go and accuses FECAFOOT of several violations.
Le Coq Sportif takes note of the press release of August 12, 2022, from FECAFOOT announcing the signing of a contract with a new equipment supplier, in violation of the current contract and wishes to provide clarification on the current situation.
In 2019, Le Coq Sportif was approached by FECAFOOT to make up for the last-minute defection of its equipment supplier, while we were a few months away from the CAN and the Women’s World Cup. A partnership contract was signed as a matter of urgency and significant industrial resources were implemented to be able to produce, in such a short period, the equipment necessary for the two teams.
Despite the constraints related to the late signing of the contract and the Covid-19 pandemic as well as the changes that have occurred within FECAFOOT and the resulting lack of stable interlocutors, we have always strictly respected the terms of this contract. that binds us to a partner of which we are proud.
Le Coq Sportif regrets that FECAFOOT, after refusing dialogue, never responded to numerous letters and calls. And that FECAFOOT has also violated contractual rules such as:
– Failure to respect the confidentiality of contracts;
-The spread of inaccurate information in the public square;
-The unilateral termination of a contract in violation of the contractual provisions.
Faced with this state of affairs, Le Coq Sportif, in respect of contract law, summoned Fécafoot for several reasons to obtain respect for the contract binding the two parties as well as the recognition of its rights. For the sake of transparency, it informed Fécafoot, the governing bodies of football, and the Cameroonian authorities concerned about its approach.
A few months before a global deadline, strategic for an emblematic team like Les Lions Indomptables, Fécafoot weakens its partner Le Coq Sportif as well as the Cameroonian economic players who have purchased the collections of equipment already produced after validation by this even FECAFOOT and approval by FIFA.
Le Coq Sportif does not intend to withdraw on a non-legal basis and without detailed arguments justifying this abusive breach of contract.
