The former General Manager of the Cameroon Radio and Television corporation, Gervais Mendo Ze ha been slammed a 20-year jail term for embezzlement by the Special Criminal Court in Yaounde.
Mendo Ze was found guilty by the Special Criminal Court on Tuesday and has now equally been ordered to pay the sum of 15 billion FCFA as damages to the State.
Most of his coaccused were also handed down heavy jail terms notably former Finance Minister Polycarpe Abah Abah who got 18 years.
The former mayor of Awae in the Mefou Afamba Division Jean Marie Akono Ze was equally handed an 18-year jail term and Amang Betegni 18 years and 99 millions francs to pay as damages.
Gervais Mendo Ze, former General Manager of the Cameroon Radio Television Corporation has been in jail since 201 when he was arrested.
