The death has been announced of Prof Michel Tjade Eone, Senior lecturer at the Advanced School of Mass Communication, ASMAC of the University of Yaounde II.
According to reports, Prof Tjade Eone succumbed to a heart attack this Friday April 16 at the age of 71.
He was of the second batch of the International School of Journalism, ESJ today ASMAC.
Upon graduation, the professor was recruited at Radio Cameoron where he served at the central newsroom as Editor in Chief.
The late Prof Michel Tjade Eone pursued studies in Sciences of mass communication after which he obtained a terminal decree.
He came back and became lecturer of information and communication at the Advanced School of Mass Communication ASMAC of the University of Yaounde II.
He later became Deputy Director General of ASMAC, position he held from 1989 to 1993.
A good number of Cameroon’s bright journalists passed through his professional tutelage.
Professor Tjade Eone equally served as an Administrator at UNESCO.
He is the author of several books including ; Et si le terrorisme manipulait les médias ? in 2005, Démonopolisation, libéralisation et liberté de communication au Cameroun in 2001 and L’Audience de la radio au Cameroun in 1985.
