Bamenda-based business magnet, Edison Fru Ndi has bagged a prize for championing the development of the North West Region.

Edison, who whose chain of businesses provides employment to hundreds of Cameroonians in the North West Region, was crowned as the 2020 Development Champion during the The Guardian Post Awards that held on Friday, April 9 in Yaounde.

Commenting on the award, the Chairman of the event, Jude Viban, who is also National President of the Association of English Speaking Journalists said it is a recognition for Edison Fru Ndi’s efforts in economically transforming the North West Region.

Despite the crisis that has grounded several activities in the North West Region, Edison Fru Ndi has remained resilient with his vision to make Bamenda and the North West Region an Eldorado.

His business successes with the Dreamland Restaurant, Snack Bar and Cabaret, which is an entertainment hub in Bamenda, gave him no reason to rest on his laurels.  These have rather spurred Edison Fru Ndi to gone on to establish other businesses like a giant quarry industry  in Mankon which provides employment to hundreds of Camerooians.

President of the North Chamber of Commerce, Edison Fru Ndi was equally plebiscited by his peers as the President of the North West Contractors’ Syndicate, NOWECOSY.

Apart from being a businessman, he is a philantropist with unmatched generosity as could be seen with his campaign to fight against COVID-19 in the North West Region which took him to several health centres and schools where he donated preventive kits.

When the Sacred Heart College went up in flames in 2017, Edison Fru Ndi was there for the rescue while several neighbourhoods in Bamenda attest to street lights and potable water which he has made available for them.
