15,000 tablets of 16 gigabytes each earmarked for distant learning will be distributed to secondary school students in Cameroon in the days ahead.

The tablets are a gift from some of the country’s donor partners including UNESCO, UNICEF and MTN Cameroon to Cameroonian students to facilitate distant education put in place by the Government to among other things limit the spread of the deadly Coronavirus pandemic.

The consignment was handed over to the Minister of Secondary Education, Prof Pauline Nalova Lyonga this Wednesday April 28 in Yaounde.

Receiving the tablets, Minister Nalova Lyonga thanked the above mentioned partners for assisting the country in its desire to digitalize education at a time when physical distancing becomes a necessity to curb the spread of COVID-19.

The tablets will in the days ahead be distributed to some selected secondary schools across the national territory.
