The 16th edition of the Cameroon International Cycling tour kicks off on Saturday, the Cameroon Cycling Federation has announced.

The tour will run from the 10-18 of March with teams drawn from Cameroon and the rest of the world competing for the yellow jersey.

For security reasons, the tour will take place only in four regions of the country- Centre, Littoral, West and South West regions, the cycling Federation said.

Consequently, the tour has been reduced to just eight days instead of two weeks and eight laps instead of fifteen.

Cameroon will line up two teams of six cyclists each at this year’s tour, including a team from the Hydrocarbons Corporation SNH.

The competition which is ranked 2 .2 Union Cycliste Internationale’s (UCI) calendar and has as President of the jury Portuguese Franco Fernadez Isabel Maria.
