Cameroon’s Minister of Public Health has launched a campaign to decontaminate public places in the country in a bit to reduce possibilities for the Coronavirus pandemic to spread.

The campaign kicked off Thursday April 16 at the Yaounde Railway Station, CAMRAIL in the Centre region and was supervised by the Prime Minister Head of Government, Chief Dr Joseph Dion Ngute.

It is aimed at mitigating the rapid spread of the Coronavirus pandemic in the country as cases near a thousand as at this Friday April 17.

Speaking at the campaign launch, the Prime Minister appreciated the equipment mobilized by the Ministry of Public Health for the campaign as well as the precautions taken by the Yaounde Railway Station to bar the way to the killer virus.

Barely six weeks after the outbreak of the pandemic in the country, confirmed cases stand at nine hundred and ninety-six with twenty-two deaths.

Notwithstanding these figures, the Government has noted satisfaction with the increasing number of successfully treated patients.

As at this Friday morning, one hundred and sixty-eight of them have been discharged.
