Indomitable Lions’ head coach Clarence Seedorf has met with former captain Nicolas Nkoulou to convince the defender to return to the national team.

Nkoulou took a break from the national team after the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations triumph in Gabon where he was dropped to the bench by then head coach Hugo Broos.

Clarence Seedorf was put in charge of the Indomitable Lions last week with the task of defending the Afcon crown next year at home and the Dutch man promised the best team possible to do the job.

The former Dutch international started his mission in Italy, a country he knows well, by meeting Nkoulou at Torino’s training ground on Friday where both men talked of a possible return to the setup though no final agreement was reached

Seedorf is also scheduled to continue his tour of Europe where he will meet with several players including Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana before naming a squad for next month’s 2019 Afcon qualifier away to Comoros.
