Three shops have been demolished by some Yaounde City Council agents at the Nlongkak neighbourhood in Yaounde.

The demolition exercise which began early this morning according to some eye witnesses met with no resistance, given the fact that it was done in the absence of the owners.

Informed about the situation, the owner of the piece of land reportedly rushed to the scene just to find half of the shops down.

He disclosed to journal du Cameroun that knowing fully well he is a victim, he couldn’t resist or do any other thing that could be used against him in future.

He equally acknowledged a cross had been placed on the buildings some months ago but, no personal demolition notification nor compensation had been made.

The space, Journal du Cameroun leaned is reserved for the construction of a car park of one of the services of the Ministry of Decentralization and Local Development situated beside the shops.

The owner who claimed having every legal document that prove he is the rightful owner of the place says he will not allow things the way they are.
