The outgoing President of the Cameroon Employers’ Union better known by its French acronym GICAM, Celestin Tawamba has been overwhelmingly re-elected at the helm of the association.

He was re-elected at the end of GICAM’s 129th ordinary general assembly which took place Wednesday December 16 in Douala.

Standing as the lone candidate to his own succession, the business man recorded 213 out of 223 votes giving a 95.5% victory.

Speaking to the press after his election Celestin Tawamba said one of his immediate ambitions is to renew the dialogue between the public and the private through the replacement of the Cameroon Business Forum with an effective and permanent concertation framework that will cover all problems faced by businessmen.

Celestin Tawamba has been at the head of the union which groups economic operators in the country since 2017 and is credited for having championed remarkable improvements.
