The Cameroon Telecommunications, CAMTEL and the World Health Organisation, WHO have stressed the need for the continuous respect of the barrier measures in order to bar the way to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Both structures reiterated their committment to barring the way to the virus on Wednesday, August 25 during a sensitisation visit of the WHO Resident Representative in Cameroon , Dr Phanuel Habima to CAMTEL.

The visit focused on sensitising the staff of CAMTEL on the preventive measures of the COVID-19 as well as the looming threat of the third wave of the pandemic.

Welcoming the WHO Resident Representative, the General Manager of CAMTEL, Judith Yah Sunday Achidi stressed her structure places utmost importance on the health and well being of the personnel reason why it immediately took the necessary dispositions to make the work place safe following the outbreak of the pandemic

In addition to the measures put in place by the government to prevent the spread of the virus, CAMTEL took other additional measures to ensure all its  agencies are safe.

“Let me use this opportunity to congratulate all CAMTEL staff who have been diligent so far in observing the barrier measures. Our desire and firm determination is to provide CAMTEL workers with the best means of protection during this period of uncertainty.

She also used the opportunity to thank the WHO Resident Represetative for the visit which she said will help preserve lives and strengthen the relations between both structures which will help in protecting the staff.

On his part, the WHO Resident Representative praised CAMTEL for the strict barrier measures put in place while also throwing light on the preventive measures and steps to take to get immunized.
