Boko Haram terrorists are reported to have attacked a military post in Hitere, Mayo-Tsanaga Division of the Far North region of Cameroon, and taken away a child after the attack.

According to a tweet by the international non-governmental organisation for the defence of human rights, Human Right Watch, Sunday July 12, elements of the Boko Haram Islamic group attacked a military post in Hitere, a locality in the Far North region of Cameroon.

The tweet further reads that in the course of the attack, they ransacked the military post, looted military weapons and took away a child.

Boko Haram terrorists have been fighting for the past eleven years to create an Islamic caliphate in Nigeria’s North East, but the attacks have spread to neighbouring Cameroon’s Far North region.

The group’s repeated attacks in some localities of this have reportedly displaced more than a million, killed thousands and left millions in need of humanitarian aid, a trend that is yet to cease.
