Cameroonian troops dispatched to Equatorial Guinea’s largest city, Bata hit by a series of devastating blasts last March 7 have begun their humanitarian mission.
The delegation constitutes elements of the military engineering corps, a medical team and elements of the army fire and rescue unit.
They received last instructions from the Minister of State in charge of Defence at the Presidency of the Republic, Joseph Beti Assomo Tuesday March 16 before the latter left Equatorial Guinea.
Minister Joseph Beti Assomo who led the delegation to Equatorial Guinea alongside Territorial Administration Minister Paul Atanga Nji called on the troops to be ambassadors of the green red yellow and exercise solidarity as long as their assistance will be needed by the neighbouring country.
The Cameroonian delegation dispatched Monday March 15 arrived Equatorial Guinea on Tuesday bearing a condolence and comfort message from President Paul Biya.
They were later in the day received by their host, President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo who expressed gratitude for the support and comfort.
