At least five soldiers were killed and over ten injured on Wednesday when a truck transporting soldiers to Oku in Bui Division of the North West region lost control and tumbled over, sources have said.

The truck that left Bamenda for Oku lost its way after it was reportedly attacked by armed separatist fighters leading to several soldiers injured but it is still not clear if soldiers died.

However, security forces say at least two separatist fighters were killed in the course of the attack that is said to have occured around a village called Kisotsin.

The soldiers it is reported, were on their were to Oku to guard the residence of the Prime Minister Philemon Yang, who is an elite of the village, from an arson attacks.

It should be recalled that the Fon of Oku is still under captivity since he was abducted last week by armed men who have since posed conditions for his release.
