At least six students and a teacher have been kidnapped in Bamenda, North West region of Cameroon by unidentified gunmen, sources have confirmed.
The students waere picked up at the start of the week on their way to school and later appeared in a video that was released on Tuesday though it is difficult to trace the location where the video was shot.
Amongst the students abducted , four are from the Government Bilingual High School Atiela, while the other two are from thee Government Technical High School Bamenda.
The teacher , who gives his name as Nfor Richard in the video teaches at the Government Technical High School Batibo.
Kidnappings have been a familiar theme in the past months in the North West and South West regions of Cameroon with students and teachers the main target of armed men.
For the moment, no armed group has claimed responsibility for the abduction.
