The Cameroon army says it has killed at least six armed separatist fighters during an attack last night in Bamenda, North West region of the country.

According to security sources, the armed men attacked the gendarmerie brigade at Mile 4 in Nkwen at about 9pm which provoked a shoot out.

Three of the fighters are said to have escaped to the bushes.

The army says it succeeded to kill six of the armed separatist fighters while seizing the vehicle which they used to carry out the attack as well as weapons.

Last night’s attack occured despite the dusk to dawn curfew that has been imposed on the North West Region by the Governor Adolphe Lele LAfrique.
