A former gendarme officer who has been has been fighting alongside separatist fighters in Ndop, North West Region of Cameroon has been killed in an operation by the Cameroon army, securitry sources have said.
The Cameroon army said they killed the officer alongside a dozen separatist fighters in Ndop during a joint operation carried out by the Army, Police and national gendarmerie around Ndop, Bamessing and Bambalang on Tuesday 4 September.
The army also said it destroyed three separatist camps in the villages localities where the operations took place while over 31 locally-made guns were seized as well as amunition, 19 mobile telephones, drugs, 05 national identification cards as well as food stuff.
The operation that was led by the Lieutenant Colonel Bella saw two soldiers of the Cameroon army injured but have immediately been evacuated for proper medical attention.
