A kingpin of the Ambazonia separatists’ group was on Friday killed by Cameroon’s security forces in Kumba, sources have said.

According to sources in Kumba, ‘commando’ as the ring leader was called by his followers was killed during a military raid :on their base on Friday.

With the help of intelligence from sources within the local population, the soldiers launched an assault which led to a heavy exchange of gun fire in Kossala, Kumba.

Several soldiers of the Cameroon army are said to have been wounded in the course of the operation while the separatist fighters retreated with the corpse of their “commander” which was later burried in a secret location.
