Activities have resumed at Finexs voyages Douala and Yaounde branches nearly two weeks after Douala agency restroom attendants beat a gendarme dressed in civilian attire to death because the later had no coin to pay for toilet use.

For close to two weeks, Finexs voyages Douala and Yaounde agencies remained closed following the killing of a gendarme officer at the Douche Akwa branch in Douala.

The Douala branch which was sealed by security forces after the tragic incident was reopened Sunday August the 2nd.

On the other hand, the Yaounde agency which had closed following a decision from the management of the transport company in a bit to express their sympathy with the family of the bereaved as well as the gendarmerie corps where he belonged to equally opened.

Reports from the Littoral region say passengers have been flooding in to get travel tickets, hoping for a better management of public toilets at the agency.

After the deadly incident, the Ministry of transport, Ernest Massena Ngalle Bibehe banned the payment of toilet services in travel agencies nationwide stating in a press release that by law, transport agencies are bound to construct toilets to be used by passengers and the agency staff free of charge.
