The Minister of Public Health Manaouda Malachi has suspended Five medical personnel of the Garoua Regional hospital for a period of 3months, following the dead of an 8-month old baby last Friday May 10, 2019.

Four of these medical personnel that is, the Major of paediatrics and the three nurses present during the unfortunate intervention that led to the death of the baby have been suspended for serious breach of ethics and professional conduct.

The fifth one, a nurse on her part was suspended after having found guilty of the illegal traffic and sale of drugs in the hospital.

A communique signed by the Public Health boss indicates that an enquiry has been opened to determine the different responsibilities after which further sanctions will be applied.

This is not the first time Minister Manaouda Malachi sanctions personnel of his ministerial department since his ascension at the head of the Public Health Ministry.

Last month, he sacked the Director of the Deido District Hospital and suspended three nurses, following the scandal that led to the death of Bleriot Tchanou, student at the Government Bilingual High school Deido who was stabbed by a friend.
