Elements of the commercial customs brigade in Idenau, Fako Division of the South West region of Cameroon have seized 30,517 test kits illegally smuggled into Cameroon from neighbouring country Nigeria.
A tweet posted by the Cameroon Customs say the kits were seized last Tuesday April 20 at night, alongside other medical equipment.
They were all dissimulated in a transport vessel.
The tweet indicates that the medical kits were illegally smuggled into Cameroon from neighbouring country Nigeria and intercepted in Idenau.
The kits were seized and those transporting it arrested.
This is just one out of the many seizures recently conducted by elements of the Cameroon customs brigade.
The latest seizure was that of 25 ballots of material and 40 bags of contraband sugar four days ago in Yaounde.
The goods were seized by elements of the Zone 2 Halcomi operation, an initiative that fight against illicit commerce.
