267 outstanding cocoa farmers in the Mbam and Inoubou Division, Centre region of Cameroon have received financial assistance from the Government worth FCFA 16.7 million.

 

The money was handed over to the farmers by the Minister of Trade, Luc Magloire Mbarga Atangana during a ceremony that took place last Friday March 26 in Makenene.

The FCFA 16.7 million distributed on behalf of the Head of State counts for the 2017-2018 session launched last March 23.

After Makenene, Minister Luc Magloire Mbarga is expected in 16 other local production areas for the same exercise.

The financial assistance to cocoa farmers with outstanding agricultural practices was put in place in 2016 following a drastic drop in cocoa prices at the international level.
