Caf team inspects Afcon facilities in Yaounde

A nine-man delegation from the Confederation of African Football, Caf visited all the infrastructure that will host the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Yaounde.

Led by the Assistant Secretary General of Caf and former Ghana international Anthony Baffoe, the nine-man team visited the Ahmadou Ahidjo stadium and the two annex pitches where they assessed the turf, lighting as well as seats.

They later carried on the same exercise at the Olembe Omnisports stadium where works in  ongoing night and day to beat the deadline set for the works to be completed.

The Caf delegation later held a meeting behind closed doors with members of the local organising committee as well as the contractors of the Olembe sports complex.

The team will continue with the inspection of infrastructure tomorrow when they touch down in Garoua.
