The President of the Confederation of African Football, CAF, Dr Patrice Motsepe has confirmed the Africa Cup of Nations will take place in Cameroon on the scheduled date.
On a visit to Cameroon, the CAF supremo was received by the Minister of State, Secretary General at the Presidency, Ferdinand Ngoh Ngoh and they went through the Olembe Omnisports stadium to assess the finishing touches.
With pressure from FIFA for CAF to postpone the tournament, Dr Patrice Motsepe remained bullish the competition will go ahead next month in Cameroon.
“We have to be proud of what has been done here. We want to portray a wonderful picture to the world. “I will be here in Cameroon on January 7 with my wife & kids for the AFCON that starts on January 9,”Dr Patrice Motsepe said.
