The President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Patrice Motsepe, on Tuesday, announced in Abidjan that his Foundation was donating $ 10 million for the benefit of the Pan-African Inter-school Football Championship (CAF-FIFA).The President of CAF who was in Abidjan along with Gianni Infantino, the President of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) as part of a working visit, made the announcement to the modern high school in Abobo (North of Abidjan) on the occasion of the launching ceremony of this inter-school pan-African tournament.

According to CAF, which repeats this announcement on its official website, this donation of $ 10 million (more than 5 billion CFA francs) from the foundation of Mr. Motsepe, will be used to develop school football in the six zones of CAF through the organization of this CAF-FIFA inter-school pan-African football championship.

“The best investment we can make to make football among the best in the world and to be self-sustaining is to invest in infrastructure for the development of youth football, as well as facilities for boys and girls in schools, clubs at the national level,” Motsepe said.

Boys and girls aged 12 to 14 will participate in this competition, which will be held in three stages. First at the national level (via the National Associations) and then at the zonal level with the organization of six regional tournaments, which will serve as qualifying rounds for the final tournament of the CAF-FIFA Pan-African inter-school football championship.
