This is follows a complaint filed to the State Prosecutor for the South West Region by the Regional Chairman for the Human Rights Commissions Robert Tambe Tiku.

The filed has been transferred to the Judicial Police in Buea where investigations have been opened against the Mayor who could be prosecuted for forgery, Journalducameroun.com has learnt.

Sources close to the University of Buea told Journalducameroun.com that the Senate of that institution met on Thursday and took the decision to revoke all certificates obtained from the institution by Ekema Patrick Esunge after a commission had thoroughly investigated the matter.

The file has now been transferred to the Ministry of Higher Education for appropriate measures and sanctions, the source told journalducameroun.com.

He could also be prosecuted and charged for defrauding the University of Buea if found guilty, our source at the University of Buea added.

Sources at the Buea council equally confirmed the information to Journalducameroun.com as Mayor but did not reveal whether or not he had been notified.

The Mayor has been on the receiving end ever since the South West Regional branch of the National Commission for Human Rights embarked on a « campaign » to investigate the authenticity of his certificates.

According to records produced by the University of Buea, he had neither passed the GCE Ordinary Levels nor the Advanced Level.

All attempts at getting to the Mayor for any comments proved futile.
