The chief of Lysoka village in Buea, South West Region in Cameroon has been reported dead in captivity by family members and relatives.

Chief Mbanda reportedly passed away while in captivity on Friday and his corpse was later discovered abandoned around his palace.

He had been in captivity alongside seven other chiefs in Buea for the past two weeks and their whereabouts has since remained unknown to the public.

A video that made rounds on social media showed two other chiefs standing infront of Chief Mbanda’s corpse in the bush, apparently under duress narrating circumstances leading to the demise of their colleague

Chief Mbanda’s corpse has been deposited at the Buea Regional Hospital mortuary where an utopsy will be conducted
