The United Kingdom has donated the sum of FCFA 1 billion to assist Cameroon in her fight against the deadly Coronavirus pandemic which has claimed over a hundred victims in the country.
The announcement was made Wednesday by the British High Commissioner in Cameroon, Rowan James Laxton after an audience granted him by the Prime Minister Chief Dr Joseph Dion Ngute.
Speaking to the press, Rowan James Laxton indicated his country is in support of Cameroon’s decentralized testing as part of measures put in place to fight the killer pandemic.
Since the creation of the special National solidarity fund by the Head of State, Cameroon has been receiving assistance from within and out of the country to help her step up the COVID-19 response.
Though the country has so far recorded an encouraging number of recoveries, cases and deaths keep increasing.
According to official reports, the number of confirmed cases has surpassed 2000, and deaths almost a hundred.
