The Chairman of the Social Democratic Front Ni John Fru Ndi has declined to run as the party’s candidate for the upcoming Presidential elections.

The Chairman made the pronouncement on Thursday February 22 to delegates present at the opening of the party’s convention in Bamenda.

“I will not be presenting my candidature to be the flag bearer as I have always done in the past. I have decided to leave the competition to the younger cadet,”Fru Ndi told delegates present at the congress hall in Bamenda.

However, Fru Ndi is tipped to stand unopposed as the party’s Chairman when the  elections hold on Friday in the course of the convention.
