French Bollore group has signed a concession agreement with the Kribi Port Authority for the management of its container terminal for 25 years.

The agreement signed on Tuesday July 25, between the Kribi Ports Authority and the Bollore Group was presided over by Transport Minister, Edgard Alain Mebe Ngo’o. Following signing of the agreement, the container terminal is expected to go operation within three months.

According to state media reports, the local populations and actors of the shipping sector turned out in large numbers to witness the signing ceremony between the Kribi Deep Sea Port represented by the Minister of Transport and the Kribi Functional Terminal, a consortium of Cameroonian and foreign companies.

Speaking at the occasion, Patrice Mouloum, Director General of the Kribi Deep Sea Port, appreciated the rigorously selection that led to the picking of the Bollore group to manage the container terminal of the Deep Seaport for the next 25 years.

He also announced the determination of the port to swing into action within a period of three months. Many also took turns to reiterate their engagement and determination to make the Kribi Deep Seaport a world class logistic platform and a locomotive that will boost national economy.

For his part, Transport Minister, implored the shareholders and investors at the platform to respect the engagements taken in other to work in line with the country’s vision to development essential infrastructure piloted by President Paul Biya.

The ceremony ended with a guided tour of the installations at the Kribi Deep Seaport that is already set to receive vessels of various sizes.
