At least two persons have died in the Far North Region and many others injured following an attack by insurgents of the Boko Haram islamist group.

The insurgents attacked Goudoumboul on Sunday night just before midnight, heavily looting and destroying properties of villagers before fleeing back into a boarder village in Nigeria where they are suspected to have come from.

In the course of their act, two villagers lost their lives and others were injured. Sunday’s incident follows a similar attack last week in the Far North Region where six villagers were killed as the insurgent group has multiplied attacks in recent months.

There have been several attacks carried out by the armed group, Boko Haram, have increased in recent months in the Lake Chad area particularly in Nigeria and Cameroon
