Mali then set to defend their lead allowing Cameroon to throw everything at them but could not hold on as Cameroon got on level terms at the 70 minute.
A corner by Nchout Ajara was poorly cleared by the Malian defence before the ball richocheted on Mefomettou Fallone and somehow found its way into the Mali net to put Cameroon back on level terms.
Cameroon were not done yet as two minutes later, Aboudi Onguene burst forward befor laying the ball for Nchout Ajara who side footed it int the net to send the lonesses ahead.
Cameroon now top the group alongside Ghana as attentions are now turned to Algeria for the second game.
