The Minister of Territorial Administration has warned the bike riders in the economic capital to toe the line in three months or face severe sanctions.

Paul Atanga Nji was speaking in Douala on Tuesday during a working visit to the city where he met with various stake holders to discuss security measures.

Key was his meeting with trade union leaders in the bike sector where it was agreed the bikers have been given a three-month deadline to conform with all the laws regulating the activity in that part of the country.

Proper identification of the bike riders is key to putting order in the sector and track down bad seeds who infiltrate the activity to commit crimes across the city, the Minister said.

The crisis rocking the two English-speaking regions of the country was equally on the menu of the visit as Paul Atanga Nji called on the various stake holders to be vigilant and beef up security in the region in order to avoid a spill over.

The Minister also met with traditional authorities before rounding up his visit in that part of the country with his next stop being the Far North region.
