The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon have progressed to the knockout stages of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations as group winners after playing out a 1-1 draw against Cape Verde on Monday, January 17 at the Olembe Stadium.

Vincent Aboubakar continued his excellent form in front of goal when struck on 39 minutes to give Cameroon the lead- his fifth goal of the tournament.

CapeVerde got themselves back in the game when substitute Gary Rodrigues struck from close range eight minutes into the second half.

Cameroon go through as group winners and will play their round of 16 fixture next Monday in Olembe.
