The Prime Minister, Head of Government Philemon Yang is in Douala on a mission to inspect infrastructure that will host the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Prime Minister’s visit to the economic capital is in prelude to the second inspection mission from the Confederation of African Football that is expected in the country next month.

The PM’s tour this Saturday morning started at the Douala International Airport where he evaluated the rehabilitation works going on before taking off to the gyneco-obstetric hospital in Yassa, in the outskirts of Douala. His stop at the hospital was to ensure the facility was up to date with a medicalised ambulance as requested by the Confederation of African Football, CAF.

The Prime Minister also made a stop at the Japoma sports complex to assess the level of works ongoing.  Five days ago, the Turkish firm in charge of construct works of the complex, announced the arrival of roofing materials to resume work after one month delay.

Also on the agenda of the Prime Minister’s visit is the Douala Reunification stadium and its annex as well as the Bonamoussadi stadium, the Douala General Hospital as well as the Mbappe Leppe stadium before an evaluation meeting at the Douala City Council later in the evening.
