The Confederation of African Football, Caf will take a decision on Cameroon’s hostingf rights for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, the body’s President Ahmad Ahmad has said.

Ahmad who has not stopped questioning Cameroon’s ability to host Africa’s flagship football tournament was at it again at the weekend while making a stop in Niger.

He stressed that Caf has nono interest to withdraw the tournament from Cameroon but the onus is on the African Champions to race in time for the competition or back out.

“CAF will meet in an extraordinary assembly at the end of the month and we will inform you of decisions taken. We will take a decision or issue an ultimatum, but I don’t think we can be talking about this now,”Ahmad told French radio RFI in Niger.

“I want to make it clear that Caf does not withdraw the hosting rights of the Afcon from a country. It’s either the country is not ready and backs out. Caf only sets the tasks to be accomplished and if you can meet the deadlines, you host, if not it means you have backed out. The blame should go to the country and not Caf.
