The 2017 International Badmiton competition has opened in Yaounde with close to 50 badmiton players from seven African countries and Asia present.
The competitions that kicked off yesterday at the Yaounde Multi purpose was launched by Cameroon’s Minister of Sports,Bidoung Mpkwatt in the presence of the sports family and visiting competitors.
Badminton is a sport that involves the volleying of a shuttlecock over a net with the use of rackets. Badminton is an aerobic sport that can be played for pleasure or for competition.
The event is jointly organised by the Cameroon’s Badmiton Federation and the Badmitom World Federation.
Cameroon is hosting this event for the first time and for the next four days badminton action will be in display at the Multipurpose Sports complex. The competition ends Saturday July 16.
